Kies Software for Mac to Sync Galaxy Tab 10.1 Tablet Media

Finally the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1″ users would be happy if there are specially Apple Mac based users because Samsung has pushed a updated version of their Kies Software. You can download the software from Download Center for GT-P7510MAVXAB from here. There are manuals available in English and Spanish language along with software download links for Mac OS & Win XP/Vista/Windows 7 operating systems.
Samsung Kies is a software that enables you to update your device firmware, synchronize files, and transfer data to and from your device directly by connecting to the PC. You need to download the > MAC Kies Beta 1.0.0.11062_33 for MAC OS for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (GT-P7510)
Samsung Kies Mac
All of the Samsung Galaxy devices like Galaxy S, Galaxy S 2 or be it the Galaxy Tab are connected with the Windows based computers through the Kies software only using which you can easily backup all the data onto your computer and then synchronize your media files like the music, photos & videos. This software sync option was not available to the Apple Mac OS based consumers hence this update can delight them. FYI, there is also a Kies Mini Application offered by Samsung.

How To Update Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 to Gingerbread XXKF2 2.3.3 Firmware

So, let’s proceed and see on how you can update your phone’s firmware to the latest XXKF2 2.3.3 Gingerbread version in this page with the improvements which this firmware has bought along which are listed below,
  • Background picture in the Menu has been improved and is now made to a darker looking image compared to the earlier’s light image.
  • Samsung Apps application now comes with all the latest DNS updates and the frequent download error has been fixed. With this bug most of the users were facing issues while downloading the application as application used to download just 40 – 50% and just hangs over there.
  • Many users also reported and had problems with the Android Market Place as the applications from the Market place used to download twice despite selected for just once to download.
  • Compared to the earlier battery life, the battery life has now been substantially increased so as to facilitate longer battery life and the battery powers of 1650 mah has been perfectly optimized for better battery backup, stand by and talk time.
  • Now, the free RAM too is increased and it also releases more RAM to the users directly so that the phone becomes much faster as the RAM availability has been increased to the users so that apps can make use of it and also the start-up time has been marginally reduced by two points.
  • Camera application now comes along with the advanced tools and also the bug of pink spot for some of the users have now been fixed and also now you can enjoy the benefit of better image quality as well as the greater zooming of image levels.
Procedure to update Samsung Galaxy S II GT I9100 to XXKF2:
  • From your computer first up you will have to download the XXKF2 2.3.3 Gingerbread firmware in your computer. Please note that as soon as you download this zip file you will have to unzip the file so as to get the one which are named as I9100XXKF2_I9100OXAKF2_I9100XXKF2.tar which is the firmware file and the second one is the Odin software tool which will be helpful in updating the firmware.
  • Now, next up you will have to download the Odin Zip file and extract the same, open the Odin3 v 1.83 file as shown in the above extracted files and then a new window will be opening up as shown below and then all you need to do is to just click on the Odin exe file to open the same.
  • Now, up next you will have to keep the Odin software tool as opened in your computer and then after this you will have to put your phone into download mode. Now, switch off the phone and ensure that you take out any SD Card as well as SIM card if any and keep your phone in the switch off mode. Download mode in Galaxy S II can be entered by pressing down on Volume Down button + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. You can also refer the below picture if you are unable to enter into the download mode for reference on how to turn ON the download mode.
Galaxy S2 Download Mode
  • Now, after you see the above screen on your phone, you will have to connect your phone to the computer in which Odin is open with the help of USB cable. As soon as you connect the phone, you will see that first ID:COM box as shown below will turn yellow and in the message box you will see that it will showADDED as shown in the below snapshot.
Add files in Odin XXKF2
  • So, up next you are ready for initiating the firmware updation process. Now, all you need to do is to just click on the PDA option in the Odin and then you will have to select the file which you have extracted after downloading the firmware which is named as,
I9100XXKF2_I9100OXAKF2_I9100XXKF2.tar
  • After selecting the file, ensure that you haven’t added the PIT file and also don’t tick on the Re-Partition field as this will spoil the phone and may also brick the phone in some cases. So, now as soon as you enter in the fields with the above mentioned files, you will have to click on the Start option to proceed for the updation process after which the device upgradation process starts as shown below,
Add PDA XXKF2
  • Now, as soon as the update is applied into the phone, the phone will process the update at the final stage which will be shown just like the below mentioned screen as in the message box you will see the message as “PASS” which shows that the firmware update was successful.
PASS XXKF2
  • There you go, as soon as the updation of the Samsung Galaxy S2 is finished you will see that the device will be rebooting, as soon as the device is rebooted you will have to simply pull of the USB cable after you see the home screen on your phone. Since there is a cache memory of the previous firmware gets stored in the device, you will have to clear the same and which can be done by performing the full reset by dialing the short code *2767*3855# and then you will see that all the cache is cleared successfully. To check that version has been successfully updated or not you will have to type in the code as “*#1234#”.
Do, let us know if you face any of the problems as we will ensure that all problems are solved. Just in case if you have encountered with any issue or say if the firmware is interrupted in between then no need to panic as all you need to do is to just follow the upgrade instructions from the start so that the firmware is installed successfully.

Comparing Samsung Galaxy S II and the HTC Sensation Smartphones

With a bunch of smartphones in the market, you might be confused as to what to buy. TheSamsung Galaxy S 2 recently launched in South Korea followed by other select markets making it one of the hottest phones in the market. At the same time we have the HTC Sensation which is also a similar phone with a dual core processor. Today we’ll point out some key aspects of both the devices to make it easier for you to pick the best. Bear in mind that these phones have different CPUs, so the comparison couldn’t be any fairer.

Samsung Galaxy S II

samsung galaxy s 2 1
The Samsung Galaxy S II has a remarkably big display at 4.3 inches with the Super AMOLED Plus display. Samsung first showed off the Super AMOLED display with the Galaxy S last year and now this phone promises something new to the customers. The Super AMOLED Plus display, to be honest, isn’t much different than the Super AMOLED display but with the bigger display real estate it does look better.

And to add to the feature list, the dual core Exynos processor makes performance snappier than ever along with 1GB of RAM. The S2 is also capable of recording 1080p Full HD video.

The handset is available in two variants (16 GB and 32 GB). No info is available yet on the 32GB variant. AT&T will be launching the Samsung Galaxy S II in the US, calling it the Samsung Attain.

Specifications:

  • 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus Display.
  • 8 MP camera with 1080p Full HD video recording capabilities at 30fps.
  • Dual core 1.2 GHz Exynos 4210 processor.
  • 1GB of RAM, 16 or 32GB of built-in storage.
  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread with TouchWiz 4.0.

HTC Sensation

htc sensation 1
The HTC Sensation is HTC’s latest flagship phone and promises similar functionality as the Samsung Galaxy S II. The Sensation has been subject to a lot of talk and hype, and now reviews and expert opinions suggest that the handset is one of the best HTC devices yet.
htc sensation 2
What makes it special is the big display of course, and the qHD resolution which makes reading text contents a joy. This beauty features the fancied Qualcomm third generation processor, with each core clocked at 1.2GHz. But if we were to compare the processor performance, the Galaxy S II steals the show from the Sensation.
htc sensation 3
In terms of camera however, both the Sensation and the Galaxy S II are tied, but Samsung’s brilliant Super AMOLED Plus display with better contrast makes joyous viewing of pictures. The highlight of the HTC Sensation is the Sense 3.0 user interface. With the ability to jump into a particular app directly from the home screen, the Sensation is trendy device. This is the first device to come out with the updated version of Sense 3.0 and we’re very impressed to be honest.

Specifications:

  • 4.3 inch S-LCD display with a qHD resolution (340×960 pixels).
  • 8MP camera capable of recording 1080p Full HD video at 30fps.
  • 1.2 GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
  • 768MB of RAM and 1GB of internal storage.
  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Conclusion

We think the Sensation and the Galaxy S II are pretty good in their own right. And it’s hard to pick the winner between the two, but if we were to pick one, it would be Galaxy S II. Mainly because of the faster GPU, and overall performance compared to the HTC Sensation. That being said, if you’re looking for a smartphone with all the eye candy, the HTC Sensation is tailor made for you. Not only does it have one of the best user interfaces, it has also got one of the snappiest processors in the market, though it doesn’t come with the Galaxy S II’s extra bit of RAM and 16GB of storage.
So, which one of the above would you choose? Tell us in the comments.

Sony Ericsson Shows Off The Android 2.3 Update For the Xperia X10

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Gingerbread
Sony Ericsson keeping up on its promise to roll out the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update to the Xperia X10, has now uploaded a demo video which shows the device running the new update. Users with the Xperia X10 have every reason to smile because if you may remember, Sony Ericsson once said that Android 2.3 will not be rolled out to the Xperia X10. We wonder as to what caused the change of mind, either way users are happy. But Xperia X10 users will have to wait till the beginning of August to get the update.
As far as the features coming with the update are concerned, they will be mostly cosmetic tweaks. And the user interface will get revamped of course, as you would come to expect from Sony Ericsson. The user interface will now bear resemblance to the recently launched Xperia Neo and Arc. Other changes include the addition of Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities, the ability to install applications on the SD card and the Facebook Inside Xperia app which brings improved Facebook integration which the company proudly showed off recently. We do not have a specific roll out date as of now, all we know is that the update will be rolled out in the beginning of August. The company has also specifically mentioned that non generic handsets might not be getting the update. Here’s a video demonstration/tour of the Android 2.3 Gingerbread on the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10.
