Installing Guide of CyanogenMod 7 Gingerbread ROM for HTC Desire S

New CyanogenMod 7.1(nightlies) is now released for HTC Desire S users. This particular news is announced by the XDA member Nexx. As you know CyanogenMod 7.1 is an AOSP based custom ROM which is the optimus custom ROM among all. Some quite features of this custom ROM are mentioned below-
  • AOSP and Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread based custom ROM
  • Integrated with Stock CM 2.6.35.14 kernel
  • Compatible with Tiamet custom kernels
  • Optimus custom ROM that gives you a chance to use your phones capabilities in a full manner.
So let’s try this custom ROM our HTC Desire S. Follow the below instruction guide to install this custom ROM.
Make sure firstYour phone must be rooted with ClockworkMod Recovery installed. You can aquire permanent root on your Desire S if you have S-OFF. For more read the developers forum here. For rooting help you can see our rooting guide for HTC Desire s here.

These custom ROMs are automated alpha and pre-alpha builds and don’t have the official CM support. So be responsible for any further damage.

Required:-

Instructions to install CyanogenMod 7 Gingerbread ROM for HTC Desire S :-

  1. First connect your phone with your PC and copy the downloaded ROM file (CM 7 Nightly builds for Desire S) to the phone’s SD card root, not in deep please.
  2. Now reboot your phone in recovery via downloaded ROM manager.
  3. In recovery wipe cache/ factory reset and dalvik cache by the “Advanced” option.
  4. When the wiping process is complete go to the Recovery main menu.
  5. Here choose the option “install zip from SD Card”.
  6. Browse the file “cm_saga_full-X.zip” and select it to flash in your phone.
  7. Now the flashing will begin and the phone will reboot after finish of the process.
  8. That’s all.
Enjoy! Now you have the CyanogenMod 7 Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread in your Android phone.
